Please ensure that you afford yourself enough time to get to your parking spot as late comers will experience traffic delays.

Riders must make their way outside to the starting pens, which are located in Eeufees Road in front of the main entrance to the Monument grounds.

Start line locations:

The 98km and 20km rides start at the same location as last year – in Eeufees Road in an easterly direction (towards Centurion).

The 60km ride has a separate start line on the opposite side of the Voortrekker/Eeufees junction and the ride starts in the opposite direction in Eeufees Road – not in the same direction as the 98km and 20km.

The 5km and 500m kids rides take place inside the Voortrekker Monument parking lot. Entries will still be accepted for the kids rides at the start line from 08h30.

Finish line locations:

The finish line for the 98km and 60km this year is located at the top of the climb to Freedom Park. After the finish line riders cycle downhill to the Voortrekker Monument where they will receive medals and drinks.

This downhill section after the finish line formed part of the race route last year, so 2017 riders will be familiar with it.

The 20 km finish is back in Eeufees Road at the start finish arch in the opposite direction to their start.

Waterpoint locations:

1 10km 10km turn-around for 20km distance
2 20km Corner of M26 and R511

Cut-Off Times

Because we have full road closure along the route it affects residents in the area. As a result, the TMPD will enforce strict cut-off times along the route. If any cyclist does not make the cut off point they WILL be stopped, and they will have to return to the venue for safety reasons.

These cut off times will be strictly adhered to – NO EXCEPTIONS.
 20km race
Cut-off will be 8:15 at the 10km turn-around
60km Distance
Cut off 1: at 25km turn (Waterpoint 4) on N4 at 09:30
Cut off 2:  at 52km (Waterpoint 7) Corner of Soutpansberg and Tom Jenkins at 10:30 am
Final cut: 13:30 at the finish
98km Distance
Cut off 1: at 20km (Waterpoint 2) left turn onto M25 at 08:30am
Cut off 2: at 55km (Waterpoint 4) on N4 at 10:00am
Cut off 3: at 82km (Waterpoint 7) Corner Soutpansberg and Tom Jenkins at 12:15pm
Final cut off: 13:30 at the finish

Race numbers will be removed from riders after these cut-offs and should they choose to continue they will form part of normal traffic and must adhere to all traffic rules.

The finish line will be lifted at 13:30 and riders who cross the line after 13:30 will not receive an official time.

Timing and Results:

Managed by RaceTec. It is compulsory for all riders to wear a RaceTec chip for the event. NO CHIP, NO RESULT.
Chips will be on sale at the RaceTec table at registration. Results will be listed to www.racetec.co.za

Prize Giving, Food and Chill Area

Prize giving will take place in the Monument Restaurant at 12:00pm.

The Monument Restaurant caters for large functions and will have a delightful array of eats and drinks on sale.

The race village is on the lawns under the trees in front of the restaurant. Clubs who would like to set up their gazebos in this area must please contact Johan du Toit on 082 809 5498 to make arrangements.

There will be temporary toilets at the starting blocks and water points. Participants may also use the Voortrekker Monument toilets but are requested to leave these facilities clean.

Accidents and medical support

Courtesy of Tshwane Medical Services, ambulances and paramedics will be available in case riders need to be treated or transported.

It is extremely important that every cyclist’s full details (name, medical aid, number, allergies, emergency contact numbers etc) are correctly filled in on the race number on the back of their shirt and that every cyclist can be correctly identified by his or her race number.

Participants must have a means of identification, with medical details, to ensure that the emergency personnel have all the necessary information available should an ambulance have to pick them up.

All riders must please register themselves on the MySOS app.
